Defenders Episode 5: The Fury of Incubus!! Chapter 8 (Continued)!!

“Feeling a little hot down there,” he calls to Guardian.
“Well, I was meaning to work on my tan,” Guardian responded with his usual banter.
“You look a little done on the outside,” Incubus said, commenting on Guardian’s dark complexion. “But I like my meat very well done.” With that, the fiery Aussie sends a flaming orb at Guardian which he avoids. Incubus trusts both arms out to his sides. The pillars of flame begin launching multiple fireballs.
“Damn!” Guardian kicks into high gear, using his incredible agility to weave his way around the barrage of fiery orbs. He sways to his left, then his right and left again. The fireballs come close to scorching his skin as their number begins to increase. One passes by his head, just missing his ear. He can feel the heat roast his skin and singe the hair on his neck as it whizzes by. Knowing he has to do something or be roasted alive, Guardian begins hurling Lightning Spheres amid using his evasive skills to dance around the raining flames. Incubus curls his mouth into a wicked grin. Casting his gaze to the pillars of flame at Guardian’s back, he holds one hand out towards them. More orbs of flame rain down on Guardian. It is now that he realizes that Incubus only had the pillars of flame between him and the forest launching fire spheres. Guardian defends against these as well. However, the orbs of flame are too numerous for him to deflect efficiently and the confined space adds further difficulty. One orb strikes Guardian in shoulder but he fends off the pain and continues to defend. Another strikes his back. He counters again and is struck in his right shoulder blade in that same moment. Guardian charges two Lightning Spheres in each hand, yells and hurls both of them at Incubus. Unfortunately, the Lightning Spheres cannot penetrate the wall of fire balls. Guardian is struck in one side and then the other. A third strike sends him to the ground and he crashes with tremendous force.
Incubus watches Guardian slam into the ground. “Time to end this,” he says. With a couple gestures, he has the flaming orbs gather in a stacked formation. Incubus raises one arm high and says, “This is for the death of my family! Meteor Flame…Inferno!” He swings his arm down. One by one, the fiery orbs shoot to the ground in a rapid fire session. Ash and dirt are kicked into the air with each impact. Before the final sphere is launched, Incubus infuses it with more power. The contained flames writhe violently as its power builds. He then sends the last Meteor Flame speeding like a comet towards the dense curtain of smoke, dirt and ash. This sphere strikes with devastating force, creating a small mushroom cloud. Incubus stares at the billowing cloud with a gratifying grin. “Now that’s how you roast a Defender,” he says coldly.
In the Crystal Chamber, Edenia has a grim expression on her face. Where she had hoped Guardian would overcome his opponent is slowly fading. She had suspected that the Dark Realm was producing powerful warriors but she didn’t imagine they would be like this. Doubtful thoughts enter her mind and she silently questions her decisions. Has she waited too long to gather the Defenders? Should she have better prepared Guardian to face the Dark Realm? Did she go to him too soon? Edenia is slowly beginning to lose confidence.
“Do not lose hope yet, Edenia,” her guest said, noticing her saddening demeanor. “If this Guardian is truly the descendant of the Egyptian goddess Indra then this battle is not over yet.”
