The day we have been waiting for has finally arrived!! In a YouTube video, VIZ Media, along with the cast, have announced that the long-awaited 10th volume of the popular animated fantasy series is greenlit! VIZ Media acquired the RWBY IP on July 5, 2024, and fans have been wondering when – and if – the series would continue. Thankfully, fans (myself included) can rest easy knowing that our favorite Huntresses from Remnant will be returning to finally put an end to Salem and her reign.
RWBY began in 2013 on Rooster Teeth and was created by Monty Oum. Sadly, Oum would pass away in 2015 shortly after the third volume was finished. Despite this, the team soldiered on in his honor. The series was moved to Crunchyroll in 2018 where Volume 9 premiered. In March 2024, the shutdown of Rooster Teeth was announced and in July of that same year VIZ Media acquired RWBY’s IP.
The RWBY voice cast, Lindsey Jones (Ruby Rose), Kara Eberle (Weiss Schnee), Arryn Zeck (Blake Belladonna) and Barbara Dunkelman (Yang Xiao Long) are excited for their show’s return.
