Anyone old enough to remember Saturday Morning Cartoons, the launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System and Spuds McKenzie will recall an amazing film that will soon be become so iconic that it will still be referenced to this day by the fans it has gained and continues to gain over the years. Produced by Amazon MGM, I Play Rocky follows the untold story of Sylvester Stallone’s early life and the script he wrote that will change it forever. The film stars Anthony Ippolito stars as Sylvester Stallone, alongside AnnaSophia Robb, Toby Kebbell, P.J Byrne, Stephan James, Jay Duplass, Robert Morgan, Tracy Letts, and Matt Dillon.
Already, the casting is spot on! Anthony Ippolito is not just imitating Stallone; he became Stallone, nailing his mannerisms, speech patterns and demeanor. If you are not familiar with him, you would swear you were seeing the actual Sly. Ippolito has also portrayed iconic actor Al Pacino in the Paramount+ miniseries “The Offer,” perfecting mimicking the actor in that show as well.
I Play Rocky is set to have a limited theatrical release by Amazon MGM Studios in the United States on November 13, 2026.
