So I’m just going to cut right to the point with this one because seeing this has me a bit hype.
Yoshinori Ono, the man behind the Street Fighter IV series and Street Fighter X Tekken, has been working on a new title called Deep Down. Deep Down isn’t a new fighting game in the works by Ono, it’s an online RPG that will make its debut at the Tokyo Game Show for the Playstation 4. In an interview with Famitsu about Deep Down, Ono was asked about what game he would like to release for PS4 once Deep Down was completed. This was his reply:
Ono: Well… It’s true that a lot of people are probably thinking “Why is Ono working on Deep Down, of all things?”, and I’d like to release a Playstation 4 game that lives up to the hopes of everyone who’s been thinking that. If it’ll be next year, or the year after that, I really don’t know, but I’d like to release it as soon as possible.
Famitsu: Can we take that as confirmation of Street Fighter 5?
Ono: No, but it might be Rival Schools 3. (Laughs)
Now, as a Rival Schools/Project Justice fan, I only have one thing to say about this: Please don’t play with my emotions, Ono. A lot of classic Capcom titles have been revamped recently and one of the few awesome titles that hasn’t gotten a solid amount of love has been Rival Schools. And just imagining Rival Schools on Playstation 4…please don’t let this be a joke.
