SPOILER ALERT!!

Coulson learns that May is speaking directly to Nick Fury and Fitz has been talking with Simmons regarding the alien medicine used to save Skye. Fitz manages to gain control of the Bus so Coulson can assist Garret who is being chasing by S.H.I.E.L.D. drone jets. After the jets are destroyed, Skye succeeds in decoding the hidden channel. With no way of changing their course, Coulson and Garret decide to face whatever is in store them. At the Hub, Simmons tries to establish communication with the Bus. Meanwhile on the Bus, Coulson releases May and Ward from the hold. He has May contact Fury only to learn that the director is dead. As soon as they land, they are attacked by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Coulson then has Skye wipe the Bus mainframe clean. A tactical team disables the hydraulics to the cargo bay and enters the plane. Coulson and his team manage to slip out of the Bus and plan to rescue Simmons, who is held captive by Agent Hand. However, Hand is not a traitor. But she says that Coulson is the traitor. Elsewhere, Ward fights off several agents in order to protect Skye. Melinda finds Agent Hand’s location and Coulson decides to capture her for questioning. Garret suggests killing Agent Hand immediately with extreme prejudice. Suddenly, several armed men enter the room and Garret reveals himself to be a part of HYDRA.
It’s all connected. The next few episodes of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” intertwines with the events that happened in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” with the rise of HYDRA and the downfall of S.H.I.E.L.D. Coulson and his team discover the continued existence of HYDRA while they try to regain control of their plane. Melinda does her best to convince Coulson that she has nothing to do with what is happening but he is having a real hard time believing her since she has a secret line to her cockpit and she shot at Fitz—perfect grounds for ruining someone’s trust in you. Just like in “Winter Soldier”, Coulson and his team are attacked by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents just the same as Steve Rogers aka Captain America. Victoria Hand was the one who ordered the assault which made her look like the she was working for HYDRA at first. However, the real culprit was Agent John Garret. He apparently learned about Coulson’s resurrection and was trying to gather information regarding it. What gave Garret away was how adamant he was about killing Agent Hand since HYDRA needs to neutralize high ranking agents in order for a successful takeover of S.H.I.E.L.D. Luckily, Agent Hand is still a dedicated agent and ended her suspicions of Coulson being with HYDRA. As for Melinda May, she was assigned by Fury to watch over Coulson for any side effects from the alien medicine used to revive him. She also reveals that she put the team together, not Coulson. This would prove that Nick Fury doesn’t trust Coulson like used but a more accurate reason might be because Fury may have found something out beforehand and needed someone he can trust. The same cannot be said for Coulson. He has been screwed too many times. He lets May rejoin the team only because S.H.I.E.L.D. has fallen and he needs her as an ally, not a friend.
After all he has done for the team, after all the missions he served with them, Agent Grant Ward finally shows his true colors as card carrying member of HYDRA. Honestly, he was the last person I suspected once Melinda May was found with the encrypted line and after seeing the second “Captain America” film. He just seemed too much like an eagle scout to want to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. but that was his cover and he played it well. He had an intimate moment with May, played Upwords with the team, and shared a drink with Skye. But it’s the ones you trust the most that can hurt you the most, I guess. Now this sheds light on why Ward shot Thomas Nash. Nash was spilling the beans about HYDRA’’s operation and Ward shot him before he revealed anymore. Plus, I found it strange that when Ward was fighting off soldiers, he managed to survive even though he was pinned down and given a boot party. Ward’s deception fooled everyone including Agent Hand who Ward kills, along with two other agents, aboard the plane taking Garret to the Fridge for lock up. What are Coulson and his team going to do when they have to face someone they once called friend?
