Claire explains to Ryan what happened after she was taken into witness protection. She then tells him that she wants Joe Carroll dead. Pastor Kingston Tanner calls Carroll out, telling him to repent. This does not sit well with Joe who makes him his next target. Elsewhere, Mandy meets with Mark. Mark asks Mandy where Joe but Mandy holds her ground. In New York, Carrie’s car is attacked by Carroll’s followers and then she is handed a cell phone where Carroll tells her to deliver another message. Ryan arrives and Carrie hands him the flash drive. He later watches the video of Joe declaring war on religion with Claire. Hearing Joe quote a passage from the Bible, Claire determines that Pastor Tanner has a son. She asks to go with Ryan to the school where the pastor’s son is. Ryan agrees to distract the marshals outside his apartment only to leave Clair behind and go with Mike instead. At her home, Lily asks Mandy where Joe is. Still, Mandy keeps tight lipped about him. At the college frat house, Korban followers attack students while they search for Preston. Mike and Ryan arrive later to find the dorm dark. They search the place until they find the college with Joe Carroll masks glued to their faces. The real followers slip out the back with Preston and Ryan pursues them. Meanwhile, Joe and Emma discover that Mandy has gone to be with Lily Grey.

Carrie Cooke (Sprague Grayden) visits Ryan's apartment after airing the video of Joe Carroll. There she meets Weston and Max (Jessica Stroup).

There is a lot of tension in the air between everyone. Claire’s back in the picture. Joe makes his move against the pastor and Lily Grey makes her move against Joe. Starting with Ryan, he is not too happy with Mike for keeping Claire a secret from him at first until Claire clears things up. She had to go into hiding to protect her son which Ryan understands so he is not too upset at her. Claire makes clear her desire to kill Joe which may be just as strong as Ryan’s. But he can’t let her do that. He still has feeling for her, even though he did the wild mambo with Carrie Cooke. Adding discomfort to an already awkward situation, Max has an issue with Claire suddenly appearing out of the blue. She has watched her uncle fall apart after her apparent death and is looking out for his best interest since she likely was there to pick up the pieces. Max will only help Claire out for her uncle Ryan and nothing more. While on their way to find Pastor Tanner’s son Preston, Mike clears the air with Ryan and Ryan seems to forgive him. Before he likely wanted to chew Mike out for keeping Claire from him and putting him through hell but he understood why. He tells Mike they’re cool but I don’t think he meant it whole heartedly since he left Mike at the frat house to pursue Carroll’s followers alone, ditching his phone in the process. Joe declares war on religion and as his first action he kidnaps the son of Pastor Kingston Tanner. Joe wants to shed light on the hypocrisy of religion by showing that the pastor is just as guilty of sin as any one member of his flock. That’s right, Joe is an atheist. Well, it looks like Emma can dance and sing about how right she was about Mandy. Learning that Mandy left him for Lily Grey upsets Joe since he has spent the past year caring for the girl as if she were his own child. He calls Lily and Lily threatens to kill Mandy unless Joe rescues her himself. Joe’s not stupid. Even though he cares for Mandy a lot, he knows that Lily will likely kill him or trap him or both for abandoning her. His self-preservation wins out and he leaves Mandy to the wolves. Now these folks are just plain twisted. Lily and her sons dine with Mandy’s corpse. Joe is crazy but he has imagination. Lily and her brood are just a few cherries short of a sundae. And the chick has money so that makes her even more erratic. Mandy departure has now driven a wedge between Emma and Joe who blames his number two for not treating Mandy with respect. Emma says she didn’t belong but the real reason is that Emma didn’t want the competition. She didn’t want to share Joe with someone else and her jealousy drove Mandy away and it might drive Joe away as well but not likely.

Upset over the death of Mandy, Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) sets his sights of Lily Gray.

The stone has been cast. Only a few episodes remain as the three-way battle is ready to take center stage. Joe will move against religion and Lily Grey. Lily Grey has Mike Weston and Ryan Hardy in her sights and Ryan Hardy has both Joe and Lily at the end of his gun sight. However, the big question is what will happen now that Claire has revealed to Carrie Cooke that she is alive and has asked for her help? Why do I see Lily finding out about Claire and taking her to get at Joe? Hell, she’s crazy enough to do it and even crazier to get away with it.
