Everyone attempts to stop the Snow Queen’s spell before it grips the town.
Gold strikes a deal with Ingrid the Snow Queen to spare Belle and Henry from her spell. Everyone watches as the spell approaches. The residents try to leave but the Snow Queen’s ice wall prevents locks them in. Elsa finds Anna’s necklace at the wall. While the Charmings, Hook and Regina warn the town, Emma and Elsa talk to Belle about using a locator spell to find Anna. Gold puts into his motion his plan to fill the magic hat with the fairies magic to give it enough power to free himself from the dagger. Using the locator spell, Elsa and Emma search for Anna. The spell leads them to the tunnels under the library and then to a wall where Anna maybe hiding. Emma and Elsa speak to Mary Margaret and Regina about how to rescue Anna. Regina is against the idea and wishes to use the time they have left to save the town. David and Mary Margaret make the difficult choice and Emma tells Elsa that the fairies need the necklace to make a counter spell. Elsa hands over the pouch and leaves. Emma takes the pouch to Mother Superior only to find it filled with pebbles from the mine. With no other choice, Emma tracks down Elsa in the mines. Elsa uses her magic to freeze and destroy the wall, leading to the beach. There is no sign of Anna despite the necklace glowing brightly. The light soon disappears. Losing hope, Elsa makes a wish on Anna’s necklace. Suddenly, a whirlpool appears in the water and a large trunk washes onto the beach. The trunk opens and Anna and Kristoff step out of it. Emma and Elsa take Anna and Kristoff to Granny’s diner only to discover that the fairies are gone. Without the fairies, the counter spell cannot be made. Everyone takes precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones. David and Mary Margaret lock themselves in the jail. Regina uses her magic to seal herself and Henry away. Meanwhile the Snow Queen watches in anticipation as her spell takes hold.
At long last, Elsa is reunited with her sister Anna.
Time is running out as Ingrid’s Spell of Shattered Sight encroaches on Storybrooke, threatening to bring out the darkness in everyone’s hearts. The only person who can stop it is Anna. Sadly she’s nowhere to be found. Elsa and Emma use her necklace to search for her. They are eventually led to the beach where Elsa makes a wish to being her sister to her. But first, let’s check out Arendelle in the past. The Snow Queen’s ice magic defrosts and frees everyone in Arendelle including Anna and Kristoff. Anna somewhat remembers what happened between her and Elsa. She begins looking for the urn when she finds a piece of golden straw. She and Kristoff get ready to seek out Rumplestiltskin and free Elsa when they are stopped by Hans, who has also been released from icy imprisonment. Anna and Kristoff manage to avoid capture and head for the dock in search of the pirate Blackbeard. However, Hans has already paid an informant to keep tabs on Anna. He reveals to them that the Snow Queen kept them frozen for thirty years before having them locked in a trunk and thrown overboard. Anna is brought to Storybrooke by Elsa’s wish on her necklace. It turns out that Anna’s necklace is the fabled Wishing Star. The sisters’ reunion is short-lived when Emma takes them to the fairies in order to have Anna help in making the counter spell. Sadly, the fairies are all gone so no cure can be made. Without the cure, Storybrooke will destroy itself. Friends will turn on friends and the bond of love will not be enough to stop the rising darkness.
Gold and Ingrid may have a mutual arrangement but who is deceiving who?
Gold relishes in this moment. The plan he has put into motion since he met Ingrid years ago is coming to fruition. He has deceived everyone in town including Belle whom he claims to love. Yeah, he struck a deal with the Snow Queen to protect Belle but how much does he love her really. Everything he has done has been for himself. He may have been sentimental when Hook poisoned him back in Season 2 and he professed his love for Belle when he thought he was going to die. Yet I still do not believe that he truly loves her. His heart certainly is not wholly for her. Gold loves himself more than he does Belle. The proof is in the pudding. He uses Hook to capture the fairies in the Magic Hat to give him to power he needs to separate himself from the dagger and keep his powers intact. Gold also confesses to Hook that he can careless about anyone else given the choice between them and his own desires. The Snow Queen’s spell just night open Belle’s eyes to the truth. Speaking of which, I think that the Snow Queen might go back on their arrangement and allow her spell to take hold of Belle and Henry. With them out for Gold’s blood, she will certainly have the advantage of the Dark One.
