Miles and Monroe save Connor from Truman’s soldiers. Connor handcuffs the soldiers along with Truman. He returns to the quarantine camp where Rachel and Charlie administer the antivirus. Connor leaves the camp with Rachel, Charlie and Gene in a wagon. They meet up with Miles and Monroe outside. Meanwhile in Washington, Neville meets the President of the United States of America. The President reveals that he knows everything Tom has been planning from Julia. He asks Tom to head to Willoughby to kill Monroe. Tom complies for Julia’s sake. Monroe discusses hiring mercenaries with Miles to help deal with the Patriots. In Willoughby, Tom and Jason report to Truman with order from President Davis to hunt down and kill Monroe. Truman uses Julia as initiative for Tom and Jason to complete their job. Aaron and Pricilla arrive in Lubbock, Tx. Monroe, Connor and Charlie make it to New Vegas in search of a someone named Duncan. They find her but she is not happy to see Monroe. Aaron and Pricilla find their friend Peter at a church where he has been presenting himself as a healer. Monroe continues to try and convince Duncan to help with the Patriots. Aaron explains about the nanites that have been helping Peter with his healing powers. However, Peter is not convinced. Meanwhile, Miles and Rachel spend a little quality time together. The same goes for Charlie and Connor. Miles and Rachel return to the cabin to discover Tom Neville there. Tom tells him he knows about Monroe supposed execution. He also gives Miles a story about wanting revenge against the Patriot for dropping the bombs. Monroe manages to get the necessary men but at a high price. He sees his old promoter to schedule a fight while in Lubbock, Aaron realizes that the Peter he once knew is not the same. Monroe participates in the fight while Charlie and Connor execute their plan. Connor causes a commotion giving Charlie a chance to steal the tool box with the diamonds in it. She is chased to the edge of New Vegas where she escapes. The box she left behind is full of rocks. Connor grabs the real box after the tent is clear and meets up with Monroe. They are captured by the owners of the casino.

Everyone dreams of meeting the President of the United States and want to know what he is like. Is he a nice guy? Does he truly care about the people? Unfortunately, this Commander in Chief doesn’t give a damn. President Davis makes Tom Neville an offer he can’t refuse. He orders Tom to track down Monroe in Willoughby, Texas and kill him. As initiative, Davis threatens bodily harm to Julia, namely cutting out her tongue or gouging an eye. He explains this while casually eating his meal. The scene reminded me of Godfather or any mobster movie in general. The same scenario plays out when Tom and Jason report to Ed Truman in Willoughby. Ed promises to send Julia’s head in a box to Tom if he screws up in his hunt for Monroe. President Davis and Truman have plans for Willoughby that have yet to be revealed. With this, now we know who the Patriots really are—a bunch of military clad mobsters.

Now one would think that Tom would not try anything with Julia’s life hanging in the balance. But Tom just can’t help himself. He tracks down Miles and Rachel outside of Willoughby where he tells Miles that he wants revenge against the Patriots for dropping the bombs and killing his wife. Has Tom already written off Julia? This is the interesting about Tom, you don’t know which way he going. Could he be playing Miles or does he have an ulterior plan to use Miles to get to Monroe? Miles is not too quick to believe Tom so there is no doubt that he will stay on his toes around him. Miles and Tom used to be in the Monroe Republic together so they know how the other thinks which will likely lead to conflict between them if Miles is willing to give Tom the benefit of a doubt. Rachel, however, won’t trust as far as she can throw him.

Monroe puts into motion his plan to restore the army he once had. With his son Connor and Charlie, he heads to New Vegas in search of mercenaries who are willing to enlist. His first stop is at the casino tent where meets a woman named Duncan and asks to hire some of her men. Duncan is not too happy about seeing Monroe and offers him a high price. Monroe makes a plan with Charlie and Connor to steal the casino’s earnings while he participates in a pit fight. The plan nearly gets off the ground when Charlie swaps the real box for a fake while Connor creates a distraction. The casino owner and some men chase her out of New Vegas. Afterward, they find the real box with the diamonds on Connor and Monroe. What’s going to happen now that the plan has gone awry? Why do I see Monroe somehow convincing his former employers to let him and his son go and get them to join him and Connor in their fight against the Patriots and restore the Monroe Republic? It’s a hell of a longshot but anything is possible.

Aaron and Pricilla find their friend Peter in Lubbock, TX where he portrays himself as a faith healer[/caption]Aaron and Pricilla find their friend Peter in Lubbock, Texas where he is portraying himself as a faith healer using the nanites to cure various ailments. However, they learn quickly that he is not the man they remember. I can’t shake the feeling that Peter has something planned for his long lost friends. The man just doesn’t seem quite all there.

Oh hey, did you see Bret Michaels? Yeah, he was singing in Vegas. Some things never change.
