Yup, it seems the Titan will be joining the other DC shows on the small screen. A pilot has been planned and which members will star in the upcoming series has been revealed. Dick Grayson has been solidified to appear in the series. He will start out as Robin, shortly after ending his partnership with Batman, and slowly develop into Nightwing. This will be the first time Robin/Nightwing ahs been portrayed in live action. Robin was featured in Joel Schumacher’s “Batman” film but he was too dull and he wasn’t even mentioned in the Nolan films (sorry, John “Robin” Blake doesn’t count). Joining Dick will be his love interest Barbara Gordon. Though she was never a member in a y incarnation, she does have a long standing relationship with Grayson due to her days as Batgirl. However, the Barbara Gordon that will be featured in the series will be her Oracle version. She will serve as the team’s resident computer hacker. Basically, she will be this show’s Felicity Smoak. Hawk and Dove will also be appearing, based upon the duo of Hank Hall and Dawn Granger. The death of Hank’s brother Jon, the original Dove, may be referenced. The daughter of inter-dimensional demon Trigon gathered together the New Teen Titans to battle her demonic father. Raven will be referred to a Rachel Roth in the series. The name was given to her by Geoff Johns in his run of “Teen Titans” in the early 2000s.The alien princess Koriand’r from the planet Tamaran was one of the most popular characters introduced in the New Teen Titans comics of the ’80s, as well as on the Teen Titans animated series from the early 2000’s. She (as well as Raven) only appear as buttons at the very end of the episode, but considering her romance with Dick Grayson in the comics was a big part of it, expect some kind of love triangle with Nightwing and Barbara Gordon should the series go forward.

Not mentioned are popular characters Beast Boy and Cyborg. They will not appear in the pilot initially but can potentially show up later in the series should it go forward. Beast Boy is more likely than Cyborg since the latter is technically part of the Justice League. It is still known whether the Titans will be set in the same universe as “Flash” and “Arrow”. If this likely, we could see the appearance of Arsenal/Red Arrow or Barry Allen (or a newly introduced Wally West).

So what do you think of this line-up and idea for the series?
