May excitement keeps building for Netflix’s Devil May Cry series! From its announcement to the teaser to the first look, the anticipation has been building. Adi Shankar and Studio MIR have already worked wonders with the two Castlevania series which I have enjoyed a lot, and I’m looking forward for them to bring their vision to Capcom’s beloved action series.
Just a friendly reminder, this Devil May Cry series is based off of “Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening” and the accompanying manga that was published in 2005. The aforementioned game is set in the 1990s which appears carryover in the series with its musical choices. As they have done with Castlevania, Studio MIR will be bringing in characters and monsters from the subsequent games including those that did not appear in DMC3. One prime example of this is the White Rabbit character seen in the trailer. He appears in the Devil May Cry 3 manga which itself is set one year prior the events of the game. There are other characters who fans will recognize from the games, but let’s hold off on that for now.
Devil May Cry is set to premiere April 3 on Netflix!
