Abbie and Crane arrive at Fredrick’s Manor with the Sword of Methuselah. They enter the mansion to find it empty except for a scale model of Sleepy Hollow. Spotting flags strategically placed, Crane and Abbie discover that they form a pentagram. Soon they hear Katrina scream and rush outside to find her tied to a post for a sacrificial ritual. Crane duels against the Headless Horseman while Abbie frees Katrina. After defeating him, Crane demands to know where Moloch is. Katrina uses her magic to extend the power of the necklace so Crane can see Abraham. He tells him that the sword will claim his soul if is used. Taking precaution, Abraham is sealed in the Masonic jail beneath the archive room and Abbie and Crane learn from Jenny, who gathered information upon Katrina’s request, that what Abraham said is true. Jenny suggests that Captain Irving may be able to wield the sword since his soul already belongs to Henry. Crane confirms this with Katrina. Crane and Jenny find Irving in an old armory and convince him that he is the only one capable of using the sword against Moloch. Irving returns to the Masonic room and forces Abraham to tell them where Moloch and Henry are. Needing all the help they can get, Jenny and Crane find Hawley and ask him to being his collection of enchanted weapons. In the forest, Moloch and Henry prepare for the arrival of Moloch’s army. Hawley is left to keep watch over the Headless Horseman while Abbie, Crane, Jenny, Katrina and Irving head out to stop Moloch. Along the way, they encounter the demon’s army. The Horseman of War rides into the battle. Irving fights and defeats War but he is critically injured in the battle and then dies. Meanwhile, Moloch burns the third tree, further merging Purgatory with the real world.

Marriage is a sacred bond that should be cherished. But once in a while that bond is strained before it is ultimately broken. That’s is what happened to Katrina and Ichabod Crane. Katrina’s life of spying, lies and betrayal have pushed Ichabod to the limit. The last trigger is when he overhears Katrina tell Abraham that she cares for him while Abraham was being held captive. Katrina apparently still cares for her first betroth since she had him spared twice, once from Ichabod and again from Frank Irving. She elected to stay with Abraham when she was captured in order to learn more information from him. It seems like she has done more than just play house with the Headless Horseman. It’s a shame really. Ichabod wanted nothing more than to reunite himself with his wife and after so much effort he gets her back only to lose her again. They decide to remain together only until they defeat Moloch. However, despite this there still may be hope for them to reconcile and save their marriage.

Henry Parrish devoted himself to the demon Moloch, body and soul. But he never realized the price that came with such devotion. He turned against those who gave him life and sacrificed the lives of others in the name of his master. And in the end, Henry was nothing more than a pawn for Moloch to use and discard at his discretion. He truly believed Moloch treasured him, turning a blind eye to those who truly cared for him. Ichabod and Katrina Crane never gave up on their son Henry Parrish/Jeremy Crane despite all he has done. They believe that part of him still holds his humanity. They were right to believe so. When Moloch revealed his true intentions toward—willing to sacrifice Henry to further his reign over the Earth, Henry uses the Sword of Methuselah on Moloch destroying the demon. But has Henry’s effort stopped Moloch from bringing Hell on Earth? Has he regained his humanity and will he abandon the darkness? Or did he remove Moloch to raise War on Earth? Guess we’ll find out the true intentions of Henry Parrish when Sleepy Hollow returns in January.
