Square Enix sets to capture the spotlight again!!

The Behemoth in Final Fantasy XV truly is a behemoth.

Square Enix doesn’t cease to amaze me when it comes to their long-running (back before Square Soft merged with Enix) Final Fantasy series, which is over 25 years old. Three years ago fans were introduced to the most visually stunning games in the series Final Fantasy XIII. The cut scenes and gameplay were beautiful. Since that, it was a wonder of what is to come in the next game? Well, the company may capture lightning (no pun) again. Final Fantasy XV, retitled from Final Fantasy versus XIII, this game looks simply gorgeous. When I viewed this footage, I was instantly amazed at the power, the talent, the imagination that is being put behind this latest addition. The characters look as if they will jump off the screen. The textures of the characters, of the environment are smoother than that of FFXIII. I like how this mimics Square’s other series Kingdom Hearts. But if you closely, you’ll see some Devil May Cry elements in there as well, particularly the character we’re seeing dashing towards enemies and hacking away at them Nero style. His dashing, both on the ground and in the air, could definitely be inspired by Dante’s Trickster style. If the footage tells the tale of the game then Final Fantasy XV looks to be on the list of highly anticipated games.

Sora and company are coming back!!

And joining Final Fantasy is Kingdom Hearts 3. It’ll be close to a decade since Kingdom Heart 2 wowed fans on the Playstation 2 in 2005. Rest assured, the Disney-themed RPG we have been waiting for is currently in development. There have been several Disney movies released since Kingdom Hearts 2 so there are grounds for plenty of new source material. We could see Sora and the gang running around as superheroes in the Incredibles world or take on the shape of various vehicles in Cars or they could have a grand ol’ time in Louisiana hanging out with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. It would be interesting to see Sora in the darker version of Wonderland depicted in Tim Burton’s take on the story. I wouldn’t be surprised if they tap into the Marvel world as well. No release date has been set as of yet. But from these visuals, Square Enix is allowed to take the time they need to create a worthy sequel that will put Kingdom Hearts back in the spotlight.
