The first Castlevania: LoS was the best 3-D adapted Castlevania game in the series and Konami looks to crack the whip even harder with this impressive looking sequel. The gameplay mechanics take a cue from God of War. The whip animation is awesome with its lightning fast strikes and Gabriel can use a dodge maneuver that moves a great distance to finish the combo. From what is shown, the ability to switch weapons on the fly will definitely add dynamics to the combat. I just love the Symphony of the Night reference in the second clip. Which is fitting since it is solidified that Alucard will appear in the game. How awesome is that?!
Konami has said that the sequel will not have load times like the first game to keep the story moving which is longer. The story thus far is that Dracula returns once again, weakened and yearning for release from his immortal bonds. Facing a new and powerful threat, the vampire lord must reacquire his old powers – and only his castle holds the key. However, the famed Belmont clan and his own son Alucard also seek his ultimate destruction. See, this is going to be interesting. Question is will Lords 2 tie in with Symphony or Castlevania III?
