Ryan Hurst cast to portray Kratos in live “God of War” series!!

Well, we did not get Triple H like we wanted, but I believe we have the next best thing. Ryan Hurst, known for his role as Opie Winston in Sons of Anarchy, has been cast to portray Kratos in the live action God of War series. He already has credit in Santa Monica Studios’ flagship series voicing the Norse God Thor in “God of War: Ragnarok.”

The series will pick from the current God of War games in which Kratos teaches his 10-year-old son Atreus how to be a better and, in turn, Atreus shows his father how to be a better person. Like Kratos, the series has had a long journey since it was first greenlit in 2022. Ronald D. Moore took over as showrunner after the departure of original showrunner Rafe Judkins in 2024. With being the showrunner, Moore also serves a writer and executive producer under his Tall Ship Productions banner. The series will be co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios along with PlayStation Productions.

As a long time fan, I am excited for this series happening and the casting of Kratos. Ryan Hurst already has that grit in his voice when he portrayed Thor. If he tweaks it a little by deepening it, he can be a good live version of Kratos. I cannot wait to find out more about this series!
