Profile: ThunderZone

In what year did you start?

We first published the Nature Man #1 in 2019.

How many titles do you publish?

To date we have 12 titles with one to three issues each. My own Thunderzone titles thus far are Nature ManBig House Blues, and Junkyard Joe. Beyond that there are a number of Thunderzone books from other super-talented creators. Those books are SupaCrossThe Squad, Marshal Strong, Night Claw, Chronicles of the METAversal, DragonManx, Defenders of Europe, Subject Alpha, and the upcoming Thunder Guard.

Which is your flagship title?

As a multi-creator universe, these books all have equal billing. You can think of it like early Image with various studios creating books under an imprint in a shared universe.

How large is your team?

The 12 titles are by nine creators but each book has its own crew of writers, artists, colorists, and letterers.

What’s your company philosophy and/or what sets your company apart from other comic book companies?

Thunderzone strives to bring the fun factor back to comics by building a comics universe through numerous creators. This is also done in a unique manner as we have cultivated comics from across the globe to give a broader perspective to the line. Creators from Singapore, Ireland, Italy, Puerto Rico, Brazil, the Phillipines, and the U.S. have come together to present a truly global line of books.

How did the move to more digital media affect your company?

Digital media has allowed us to get the books to the reader at a quicker pace in regards to digital backers. I still personally prefer reading a physical copy but those backing digitally can enjoy our content rather quickly after the Kickstarter surveys come in.
