Michael Keaton to return as Batman…for one film!!

Many of us from the era of high-top haircuts and “Friday” movies have been waiting for the day to see Michael Keaton back under the cape and cowl as Batman. And that day has arrived.

An article written for the New York Times said that Keaton could return to the iconic role. Fans immediately took this as Keaton taking over the role permanently. However, Brooks Barnes, writer of the piece, stepped in to confirm that Keaton will only star in “one” film, stating that, “If I had info beyond “The Flash”, I would have obviously put it in my article.”

It may be for one film, but we will take it. The Flash is scheduled for release in 2022.

Michael Keaton first took up the role of the Caped Crusader in 1989’s “Batman” and reprised his role in 1992’s “Batman Returns.” However, he refused to portray him in “Batman Forever” due to Tim Burton being replaced by Joel Schumacher as director. The role was handed over to Val Kilmer.
