Korban followers spread their religion to the masses.
Ryan, Max and Mike concoct a story for Mike shooting Lily Grey. Afterward, Ryan is told about Claire talking to Carrie Cooke. At his home, Tanner receives a package with a phone in it. Ryan tells Claire to go back into protective custody in order to keep her safe. Joe and his followers prepare to execute their plan. Joe wants to find Claire despite Emma’s protests. The FBI visits Tanner and warns him not to engage Joe. Then, Tanner receives a call from Joe. One of the Korban followers arrives at the Tanner home and sets herself on fire. Tanner leaves his home and is taken in van by Korban followers. Ryan questions Tanner’s security about where Tanner has gone. He tells them that he placed a tracker on Tanner. The Korban followers enter a church where they have brought Tanner along with explosives and weapons. They then storm the main hall of the church where Joe introduces himself. Mike and Ryan arrive at the church and sneak inside. Meanwhile, Claire escapes from the marshals who were taking her into protective custody. Tanner and his son Preston are reunited and Joe shows Tanner the video of his son killing a girl. Joe forces Kingston and Preston to kill each other but Kingston takes his own life instead. Claire arrives at the Korban compound where she encounters Emma and Robert who tackles Claire. Emma uses the gun to kill Robert and then she chases Claire up to the attic where they fight briefly before Claire tosses Emma out of the window where she finally kills her. Moments afterward, the twins Luke and Mark arrive at the compound and they take Claire.

Joe begs the question: is god dead?
Whoa, how can so much happen in one episode? Joe has got some serious issues with religion. Well, he is an atheist so it expected. He is not settling for a picket sign. No, he is going all out. Joe takes an entire church congregation captive (which isn’t hard since religions do that anyway) and makes an example of Kingston Tanner, televangelist and supposed man of God. Joe saw the greed in Kingston and wishes to exploit it. I told ya I was not feeling this false prophet. When Joe puts Preston’s life on the line, Kingston barely bats an eye in denouncing the existence of God and asking Joe to save his son. Granted, it was a hard choice but if he was truly a believer than he wouldn’t have been so quick to throw himself at Joe’s feet. Well, Kingston does prove himself to be righteous in the end. Joe takes a page from the story of Abraham and forces father to kill his son. But Kingston refuses and takes his own life. Good riddance, that guy really was a wiener. Ryan is still trying to Mike in check after Mike shot Lily Grey in cold blood. After they find Joe in the main hall, Mike wants to go after Joe despite the cost. He was willing to risk innocent lives to put an end to Joe Carroll. I admit, I never would’ve expected this from Mike. He was willing to put innocent people in harm’s way just to kill Joe. But everyone has a breaking point and watching his father being killed pushed Mike beyond that. Thankfully, Ryan is keeping a cool head even though he wants nothing more than to put Joe down permanently. However, Ryan is not willing to risk the lives of innocents to do it. So somebody has to be the good cop.

Emma (Valorie Curry) finally gets done in by Claire Matthews.
I knew it, Claire was going to do something to screw herself and Ryan over and she did. First, she has Carrie Cook deliver a message that only Joe will understand which Ryan chews her out later for. Second, she escapes the marshals taking her into protective custody and third, she heads to the one place that she shouldn’t have—the Korban compound. While looking for Joe, she runs into Emma. If she has just listened, none of this would’ve happened. Claire is not thinking clearly. She has let her emotions get the better of her and now she has put herself in a dangerous situation. She wants to do so much yet she is not making the smartest of choices. Well, she finally kills Emma. Alas, poor Emma, I knew her well. She was crazy but more rational thinking than Joe at times. In fact, she was the only one who can keep Joe in line whenever he started to lose it. Earlier, Emma got Joe’s mind to focus on the mission instead of Claire even though Joe cannot get Claire off his mind. Now Emma has a real problem with competition when it comes to Joe. She sought to kill Claire just so she can have Joe all to herself. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out to well when Claire tosses Emma out of the attic window and kills her after she survived the fall. Like I said before, Lily Grey will find Claire Matthews and she has in a sense, through her sons Luke and Mark who will use Claire to get to both Joe Carroll and Ryan Hardy.
