J1-Con would like to introduce Greg as the poster child for “you’re doing it wrong, yet somehow it’s working”. Joining the world of voice acting through his background in IT and Engineering (that is not typo), Greg’s career has been… interesting, studying drama with the Walnut St. Theatre, the Wilma Theatre, and the People’s Improv Theatre. His agent once told him that he “had a face for radio”, and he’s been a cautionary tale of “how not to be a voice actor” ever since.
As a voice actor, Greg has made a career out of being the guy in the background – getting punched, blown up, dissected, vaporized, and occasionally delivering a monologue before disappearing from the scene. He’s had the pleasure to perform in anime such as “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, “Tales of Vesperia”, “Shiki”, and “Ikki Tousen” (where he gets beat up… a lot), among others. He’s best known for his work in commercial VO, with clients like DuPont, Lockheed Martin, AztraZeneca, Verizon and the NBA. Recently, he appeared (briefly) in the film “Zombie Wedding”, which is was just as delightfully unhinged as it sounds (but he got to have hair on his head for the first time in years!).
Outside of the booth, Greg managed to earn advanced degrees in Engineering and Trusted Computing, along with several professional certifications (which nobody cares about unless you’re a cybersecurity weenie). And because he’s turned overkill into an art form, Greg also serves on multiple Technical Steering committees for various cybersecurity and engineering organizations.
