As far as comic books go, Asherman was the most important person you’ve never heard of.
He was the institutional memory of the DC universe, starting at the company’s beginnings.
Asherman was a fan of comic books and science fiction, in print or on the screen, particularly the 1950s Adventures of Superman and the 1960s’ Star Trek.
The Star Trek books he wrote include The Star Trek Compendium, The Star Trek Interview Book, The Making of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Who’s Who in Star Trek.
