Rise Bastetsama, and enter our, COSPLAY SPOTLIGHT!!!!!
Why do you cosplay?
Because is really fun! Is something that I love and makes me happy.
What was your first cosplay?
My first cosplay was Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. It was a long time ago, my mother did it, given the fact that I didn’t know how to sew yet. I remember going to a convention (was called Fantabaires) with that costume with my friend is a very dear memory to me. The first cosplay made by me was Blue Mary, that day I got my hair dye blonde just to play as her. We didn’t have beautiful wigs like we have now in the past years of cosplaying in my country.
Do you make your own cosplay costumes, if so, which ones, and how long does an average costume take to make?
Yes I do my own costumes. The time always depends on the complexity of the costume. The Elementalist (Granado Espada) costume took me like six months, while other cosplays like Chris from KOF just a few days of work.
What is your favorite character to play?
That’s a question that people ask me a lot. I used to say Angel from KOf, but, I’ll stick with my Elementalist Cosplay, the female warlock is so stylish.
Amongst animation, comics, movies, or video games, what is your biggest inspiration for cosplay?
Video games are my biggest inspiration. The majority of my cosplays are from video games, because I love them. Since I was little with my NES and now with my PS3 I never stop playing.
Have you ever made any mistakes that you’d warn a first timer about?
Are there certain characters that are easier to play than others?
The easiest characters to play are the ones that have a similar personality as me. On the contrary the hardest are the characters who have a total opposite personality, but is fun to try to act like them too.
