All the way from Hungary, Alice followed us down the rabbit hole to her COSPLAY SPOTLIGHT!!
Why do you cosplay?
I love the characters and I was always a creative person. Cosplay is full with creativity. You can use your mind and try out new techniques, while showing your respect to your beloved character. Cosplay is also an act so I also love to pose and act for fun, and at conventions I am able to meet my friends or meet new ones.
What was your first cosplay?
My first cosplay was Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw. It have a huge chainsaw that is made from card boxes and colored cards.
Do you make your own cosplay costumes, if so, which ones, and how long does an average costume take to make?
Yes I do my outfits alone but sometimes I just use my wardrobe because I already have the outfit, why should I spend more money on it when I can spend on new costumes? 🙂 I know wardrobe cosplay is not real cosplay, it’s just modeling. I made my: Edward James Kenway, Panty Anarchy (i made an Original Xmass version too), Hysteria Alice, Juliet Starling, Kainé, Poison, Trish, Harley Quinn, Original Chocobo, Yoko Littner, Yamanaka Ino. Sometimes I make acessories for wardrobe outfits like Harley Quinn’s bat 🙂
It takes different times due to the difference of the costumes. Some of it looks easy, but in reality it’s really hard. The most hardest part for me is always trying to find the good fabric at a good price.
What is your favorite character to play?
I have too many and it would be a really long list. I am not able to chose one so here are some: Poison , Vincent, Nier, Dante, Marcus Fenix, Ezio, Squall…
Amongst animation, comics, movies, or video games, what is your biggest inspiration for cosplay?
Mostly Video games. If I look into my cosplay folder what I done and is waiting to be done the most of it is from games. I think in my generation most kids grew up on Sega, C64, PS1, and Nintendo games while watching Sailormoon and Dragon ball 😀
Have you ever made any mistakes that you’d warn a first timer about?
Yes I already made a lot of mistakes, like choosing bad fabrics is always the worst idea! You’ll cry over and over it, while you do your costume.
Are there certain characters that are easier to cosplay as than others?
