Since we were given the a view of the world during the crusades, Ubisoft’s annual series has taken players to some important periods in history–Renaissance, Colonial America and French Revolution. The latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series moves forward, to the industrial era of Victorian London. When I first heard about this, I was excited since I have a new fascination with history thanks to the series and Victorian London is one of my favorite periods, right behind the Golden Age of Piracy in 18th Century Caribbean. Gameplay of stealth and hidden weapons remains constant in Syndicate but tailored to fit the world of the game. To me, it has a steampunk feel to it which is likely since this is the period where the subgenre derives its inspiration. It would be interesting to see which historical figures the Assassins meet in this game. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set for release October 2015. I can’t wait!!!
