SPOILERS AHEAD!!
Ryan Hardy thinks he has connection between Andrew and Mark. He talks with Strauss who taught both Joe Carroll and Andrew Sharp. However, Strauss vaguely remembers Andrew but does advise Hardy to confess to killing Lily Grey. Daisy and Kyle kidnap Agent Clark and take him to a warehouse and leave his wife for dead. FBI search for Clark when Clark calls Ryan with a cell phone he finds in the warehouse after he manages to escape and hide himself. The call is traced to Reading, PA. Clark end his phone call and resumes his search for an exit but he is knocked out by Kyle. Clark is strapped to a table where John, who is familiar with Kyle and Daisy, tells him what he is going to him. This forces Clarke to confess on video that he sanctioned Ryan to hunt down Lily Grey. Ryan and FBI soon find the warehouse and swarm in. Inside they find a box with a trial of blood running from it and Agent Clark’s badge resting on top.
I’m sorry to say that I am a little deflated with this episode. There wasn’t a that grab hold of you suspense the series is known for. There was no tangible psychological mind games. In short, I miss Joe Carroll. Mark Grey tries too hard to provide the weird factor with his mental instability. When he had a reason for killing such as recreating his family’s death, his plan was thought out but he didn’t have a contingency plan. He didn’t think about what to do afterward. Sure, there was the idea of kidnapping Agent Clark who was later forced to give a false confession but the execution was carried out by his “followers” Daisy and Kyle who seemed to be running the show with Daisy constantly pampering Mark like the panty-waist he is. The only flicker of suspense was from the introduction of a man named John who tells Clark, in intricate detail, how he will paralyze and fold him neatly and tightly into a box. Which he does. It would’ve been more disturbing if this act was shown in some form. That’s what was missing—the disturbance. The episode was not disturbing enough, be it through the elaborate killings or the characters themselves. There was no charisma. Like I said, I miss Joe Carroll. He was killer who thinks and can out think his prey. He is the Hannibal Lecter to Ryan Hardy’s Clarice Starling. Ryan may not want to deal with Joe at the moment but the time will eventually when they meet face to face. Hopefully, two other things happen in the meantime. Either Mark grows a pair and stops whining like a temperamental toddler. Or his Luke personality takes over and puts the disturbance factor back in the series. Honestly, I hope for the latter.
