1) On what project are you currently working?
I am currently illustrating issue seven of my science fiction series Cosmic Force, about five strangers who lose two years of their lives after a mysterious disappearance, and have been declared dead by the rest of the world.
2) Whom in your field do you admire most and why?
The late, great George Perez. His elaborate backgrounds inspire me to always put as much effort as possible into large comic panel scenes.
3) How did you get into the comic book field?
As a child, I was a fan of Saturday morning superhero cartoons, which later translated into comics. I also was in a writing workshop at six years old, which got me interested in storytelling. I combined those two interests and the rest was history.
4) On which title would you most like to work and why?
Since I’ve always been so laser-focused on my stories, I would have to choose between one of those three. In the last several years, I really enjoyed writing comedic stories, so my travel-parody series Damn Tourists (about four super-humanly annoying travelers) is definitely a joy to work on. I love the freedom of this particular comic, where the only rule is to be as ridiculous as possible.
5) On what project will you be working next?
I will be wrapping up Cosmic Force issue 7 by the end of the year, then moving onto its final eighth issue next year (both will be part of a volume 3 trade when I am finished). Next up, will be issue 7 of Damn Tourists, with a story taking place in South Dakota. Mount Rushmore, the Sturgis biker rally, and other areas will now have to deal with them.
