1)On what project are you currently working?
Currently, I am working on the follow up to the Jericho Projects graphic novel, Appalachian Assassin. This will be another 100-page book that addresses what happens to Jo Betty English once she leaves her hometown and when she creates a new affiliation. As a teaser to this tale, I will say that I am a fan of team books such as X-Men, Justice League, and Avengers.
2) Whom in your field do you admire most and why?
As far as inspiration that got me seriously think about self-publishing, I would say Todd McFarlane’s commentary at the end of Spawn #1. Regarding admiration, there are many folks that fit that bill. The list would include Brian Pulido, Joseph Michael Linser, Everette Hartsoe, Bruce Jones, George Perez, Ernie Chan, Thomas Tenney, Neil Gaiman, John Buscema, Dan DeCarlo, Jr., and Sam Schwartz to name a few. These creators followed their own paths and were groundbreaking in their approaches to the field.
3) How did you get into the comic book field?
My very first self-published work was Teshuvah #0 done in 2001. That was followed by two more books in that series. It was sold via comic conventions and a distribution deal with the now-defunct Haven distribution. Then I stopped and regrouped.
4) On which title would you most like to work and why?
There isn’t really an active title that I think about as I have too many of my own creations to do. However, I will say that there is one character from the DC Comics ‘70’s Men of War series, the Gravedigger, that I would love to retcon and write his origin.
5) On what project will you be working next?
That is unclear. I may do the second part of Ms. Johnni or I may do an anime themed space soap opera story that I wrote a couple of years ago. It all depends on where my head is at that time.
