1) On what project are you currently working?
Ximphonic Versus: Nocturnes Romance. I am the creator, artist, writer, and publisher. Ximphonic Versus is a dark action thriller, beautiful yet tragic and it’s an opera, told through fantasy.
2) Whom in your field do you admire most and why?
Tetsuya Nomura, Hideo Kojima, Pat Lee, W.S Ma, Joe Mad, and H.T-Kim. They are absolutely brilliant creators, who have achieved amazing things with their works.
3) How did you get into the comic book field?
I have been drawing and making up adventure stories for as long as I can remember. And I started in comics by self publishing my first issue of Ximphonic Versus in 1996. I set out in hopes of getting published. I found my work was getting rejected again and again, until I had hit 174 rejections. So I started my own label and without the use of any crowdfunding I have sold over six thousand physical copies of Ximphonic Versus. It was then acquired by a Hollywood production company and it’s coming to streaming as an anime. It’s currently being storyboarded in Japan.
4) On which title would you most like to work and why?
Mine, lol. I just really enjoy doing my own thing with my universe of characters.
5) On what project will you be working next?
Ximphonic Versus! It is a graphic novel series and this March the fourth book was published from my label Phantom Blade Productions LLC. In May the hardcover edition of book one is releasing, and the “Phantom Edition” was also released in March. Then the action figure line is being produced: wave 1 will have 8 figures. The figures will be reminiscent of the Play Arts Kai Final Fantasy line. The figures will boast an impressive 11”-13” tall for some figures, as well as weapons, multiple heads, power effects, interchangeable hands and more. The action figure boxes are already printed as well, and are truly stunning. The action figure line is releasing Summer 2024 and will be available from major online retailers. And several spinoff series will be released this year from the world of Ximphonic Versus.
