Marvel Studios’ captivating new series “WandaVision” stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
Watch WandaVision when it premieres December 2020!
After thoughts: Now we’ve encountered shows like this before, The Running Man, Truman Show and the Cabin in the Woods just to name a couple of examples, where we see the world of television get flipped on its head and the lead characters have no idea that the world they are living in is not what they seem. And when they do, there’s some secret government branch or a Hollywood producer obsessed with your life involved. From my perspective, this looks like the direction that WandaVision could be headed, paired with the fact that Vision was killed in “Avengers: Infinity War” and one person is seemingly aware of this. On the other hand, Wanda does have her own reality warping abilities so perhaps this could be a world she created herself as a way of dealing with Vision’s death or could she be being experimented on again like she was in “Captain America: Winter Soldier.” Then again, she could be in alternate dimension where the events of “Infinity War” and “Endgame” never happened. And if it is that latter, then that could lay the groundwork for the second Doctor Strange film, “Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness.” Guess we’ll find out when WandaVision airs December 2020.
