What’s going on, J1sters!
I am crazy excited for this! After more than a decade of waiting and waiting and wanting and wanting, we are finally going to see the return of our favorite raunchy, foul-mouthed fallen angels! Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Delicious in a Dungeon) will be behind the new season of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. The original series, produced by Gainax, aired from October to December in 2010. The last we heard of the Anarchy Sisters was when Stocking had cut her sister Panty up into tiny pieces.
My ONLY prayer for the new series is that NO CHANGES ARE MADE! Please, do not change anybody just to please the current demographic. Panty and Stocking are meant to be raunchy, meant to be foul mouthed, meant to be offensive so the current generation is gonna have to deal with it. Usually, I wouldn’t mind a couple of changes when a show is revived, but these are characters that should not be touched at all. Just as Tim Burton and Michael Keaton proved with “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, change is not always a good thing. Keeping the character in their original state is what the audience who loves them wants.
