How do you catch a killer who knows the future? You just enjoy the ride of deceit, deception and betrayal he takes you on. Harrison Wells—wait, we can call him Eobard Thawne now. Eobard has been keeping a close eye on Barry Allen ever since he killed his mother. He has been lying in wait for him to become the Flash so he can return home to his time. During that time, he has made a connection with Cisco, Caitlin and Barry while working with them. He has grown to be respected by them. And then he crushes their hearts into dust. We finally get to see just how crafty Eobard truly is. He suspected all along that his protégés have figured out his true identity and continued to string them along until he decided to oust himself. Now that everything is out in the open, it will be interesting to see how Barry will have to fight a man he used to admire.

This episode takes a page from “Arrow” with a flashback to the night when Wells asked Joe West to save Barry’s life. Joe knew from the start that Wells was no good and rightfully so as of late. But his desire to save Barry allowed him to let Wells help Barry. The other part of this flashback is Iris. Now, fans know that Barry and Iris are meant to be together. Barry now knows this since he saw the article about his disappearance in Wells’ time vault written by Iris West-Allen. He will eventually marry Iris but he cannot let her get wind of this since especially since Eddie wants to propose to Iris. Poor guy. Little does Barry know, all is not lost. When Eddie is taken by Eobard, Barry rushes to Iris and promises her he will get Eddie back. Just as Barry, pulls away, Iris feels a spark. It is the same spark she felt when Barry was in a coma. She immediately realizes that Barry Allen is the Flash. Guess Cisco’s dream aren’t the only remnants of the previous timeline reset by Barry.
