What’s up, J1 fans! If you are an 80s kid then you might remember a little film titled “Willow” that featured magical creatures, mythical monsters, an evil queen and a unsung hero who holds that fate of the world in his hands.
Disney+ has announced that a sequel series has been greenlight that will revisit the magical world created by George Lucas over 30 years ago. Ron Howard, who directed the original 1988 film, will return the helm the new series as executive producer. Warwick Davis will also return as the title character Willow Ufgood. Disney+ has tapped “Crazy Rich Asians” director Jon M. Chu to direct the series and also serve as executive producer. Johnathan Casdan (“Solo”) and Wendy Mericle (“Arrow”) will serve as showrunners.
The Willow series will be the first non-Star Wars project from Lucasfilm since 2015.
