That smiley little robot shown above is one of Amazon’s new delivery drones, and hopefully within the next five years it will be bringing a package directly to your doorstep… just thirty minutes after you click “order”.
Amazon has just announced a new service called Amazon Prime Air, where sometime in the next few years, select customers can get stuff delivered straight to their doorstep via drone.
You can’t use it yet – Amazon is awaiting approval from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) – but they’re expecting approval for unmanned delivery sometime in 2015.
