Will Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) comes to terms that his son Jeremy cannot be saved?

Abbie reports to Crane that she has placed a tracer on Henry’s laptop. Henry summons a succubus and sends her into town. She goes to a night club and seduces a young man before killing him. Abbie and Crane investigate the murder. They go back to the archives to determine what creature is responsible for the death. Another death occurs and Abbie talks with Hawley in order to see if he has the items necessary to defeat the succubus. He is quick to back out, forcing Abbie to seek another way to stop the creature. She rallies with Ichabod and Katrina who determine that the demon is a succubus. Katrina uses her magic to track the succubus to the harbor. Hawley is the next target. Abbie and Crane arrive in time to save Hawley. Later, Katrina is disturbed by visions of Henry. Crane asks her to focus on them. Katrina reveals that the succubus is using the life force she gathered to nurture the demon child that was inside of her—namely, Moloch. While Katrina and Abbie find a way to kill the succubus, Crane and Hawley visit the night club in search of the devilish temptress. They soon spot her and Crane follows her. The succubus tries to seduce Crane but he resists long enough to stab her with a Nordic blade that harms demons. Meanwhile, Katrina and Abbie find the succubus’ heart. Katrina attempts to destroy the heart but she is knocked back by a protection spell. Abbie takes over and finishes the spell, allowing Crane to kill the succubus.

Morrigan Aensland. Lilith Aensland. Kurumu Koruno. Most of us recognize these from the anime Rosario+Vampire and the video game Darkstalkers. These characters have one thing in common—succubus. Lilith, the first wife of the biblical Adam, is allegedly one of these creatures. The succubus is a demon that seduces men and drains them of their life force. In this episode, Henry Parrish summons the devil woman in order to collect enough life force to nourish the infant body of Moloch. Abbie and Crane, now teamed with Katrina, must find a way to stop the creature and Henry. However, there is trouble in the ranks. Abbie completely disagrees with Katrina’s blind faith in her son Jeremy still having goodness in him. Since her mother killed herself, Abbie has a hard time believing in a mother’s love being able to conquer all. As Henry has stated to Crane with an unerring tone, he has sided with Moloch. Katrina refuses to believe that her son is completely lost and that he is in fact a puppet of Moloch. Makes sense, Moloch is a demon and demons are known to be very manipulative. But I wonder how much of Henry’s decision to bring war to Sleepy Hollow is Moloch and how much is him?

Luckily, Abbie and Katrina work things out in the end coming to a mutual conclusion—Moloch must be stopped. Katrina determines the only way to do that is for her to go deep undercover and return to Abraham. She entrusts Abbie to deliver the news to her husband which she does. Shockingly, Ichabod Crane, who was adamant before, has come to realize that their best effort to stop Henry and defeat Moloch lies in Katrina getting in close and learning all of her son’s intentions. But will she be able to stand against her child when the time comes, especially now that he has succeeded in bringing Moloch into the world?
