Those of us who are excited for the upcoming MOTU beat ’em up will have to pack our patience a little longer. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Dragon Pearl of Destruction has been put on hold again until early 2027. The game was originally scheduled for release in April on this year but was delayed and given a new release window of Summer 2026. Now that has fallen through and fans who waited their child and adult lives for what looks like a dang good He-Man game will have find the power to hold out a little longer. Luckily, those who attended Gamescon got an exclusive look at the gameplay of the first stage for the game featuring He-Man and Teela as they battle their way through the evil forces of Skeletor.
The delay doesn’t sit well with some fans who feel that an opportunity was missed when the game was not released in junction with the Masters of the Universe live action film which would have been great promotion for both. Others are taking the delay in stride, hoping the developers use this time to give fans old and new the true Masters of the Universe experience.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Dragon Pearl of Destruction is being developed by Bitmap Bureau in partnership with Mattel and published by Limited Run Games and planned for release on PS4, PS5, Xbox series S/X, Nintendo Switch and Windows.
