Netflix and Mattel Television are working together to roll out a brand new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series. To alleviate any confusion, this series will be CG animated and promoted as a companion to the 2D anime “Masters of the Universe: Revelation” series being produced by “Comic Book Man” Kevin Smith.
Mattel Television has called some heavy hitters in the industry to work on series including Adam Bonnett (Descendants), Christopher Keenan (Justice League, Batman Beyond) and Rob David (Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) who will serve as executive producers. Emmy winner producer Jeff Matsuda ( The Batman) and Susan Corbin (Voltron) will also produce. “Smallville” writer Bryan Q. Miller will be story editor.
Mattel will reboot the classic franchise with a comic book series by DC Comics, an feature film and a reimagined 1980s toyline in Fall 2020.
