Rurouni Kenshin is one of the greatest historical tales ever told. Set in the Meiji era of Japan, the series followed Himura Kenshina as he wandered Japan offering protection and aid to those in need to atone for the murders he committed. Rurouni Kenshin debuted in April 25, 1994 in Weekly Shonen Jump. Since then it has been adapted into several anime series. Now Nobuhiro Watsuki’s story has been beautifully adapted into a live action film. After acquiring the rights on June 14th, 2016, Funimation Films announced that they will distributing the Rurouni Kenshin live-action trilogy in select US theatres. The three films, distributed by GAGA Corporation, include Rurouni Kenshin: Origins (renamed for the re-release), Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, and Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends. The movies will be released in Japanese language with English subtitles and will be released sequentially during fall 2016.
