Loosely adapted from the Marvel Comics graphic novel Old Man Logan, Logan will be Hugh Jackman’s last portrayal as the lone wolf mutant with the heart of gold. Set in the future of 2024, Logan and Professor Charles Xavier must cope with the loss of the X-Men when a corporation lead by Nathaniel Essex is destroying the world leaving it to destruction, with Logan’s healing abilities slowly fading away and Xavier’s Alzheimer’s forcing him to forget. Logan must defeat Nathaniel Essex with the help of a young girl named Laura Kinney, a female clone of Wolverine.
Now they [Fox] has stated that this film is loosely based on the graphic novel, so don’t expect all the craziness from the comics, but what they are bringing is a (I hate to sound cliche) gritty, darker, more seriously heartfelt story. The old rustic, and somber country music really adds to the “end of days” aesthetic. For the gamers, this is totally Last of Us, and for film nuts this Maggie. Let’s hope that it will be not just be a good comic book movie, but a good film overall.
