Netflix is looking to up its anime game to new heights and they are not screwing around. The streaming service is cutting the middleman and going straight to the source by teaming up with CLAMP, the company behind Cardcaptor Sakura and working alongside a list of well known manga creators Shin Kibayashi (The File of Young Kindaichi), Yasuo Ohtagaki (Gundam Thunderbolt), Otsuichi (Calling You), Tow Ubukata (Le Chevalier d’Eon) and Mari Yamazaki (Thermae Romae).
Netflix has a host of original anime series including Devilman Crybaby and Carole & Tuesday, as well as anime inspired series such as Castlevania and Voltron: Legendary Defender. There is no word on what project are in the works, however, the official Twitter account for Netflix posted a video announcing the newly formed partnership.
