Zazie Cosplay, this is your week in our COSPLAY SPOTLIGHT!!

Why do you cosplay?

I cosplay because its fun! I love expressing myself through art form. Its your chance to be a character that you love and admire! When you get to put on your cosplay for the first time at a convention is just a wonderful feeling! To have others to stop you to take your photo means that they also love/like/know the character you’re cosplaying as, and just loved how you portray them with your cosplay!

What was your first cosplay?

My first cosplay was Michiko Malandro from Michiko to Hatchin.

Do you make your own cosplay costumes, if so, which ones, and how long does an average costume take to make?

I make all of my cosplay, with friends help of course! Depending on how complicated the cosplay is, it can take from 4 days to 4 weeks.

Who is your favorite character to play?

My favorite cosplay so far has to be… Nidalee from League of Legends. She’s one of my favorite champs in the game.

Amongst animation, comics, movies, or video games, what is your biggest inspiration for cosplay?

I would have to say video games are the inspiration for my cosplays since most of my cosplays right now are from games. But I do love anime and comics too!!!

Have you ever made any mistakes that you’d warn a first timer about?

Luckily for me when I first started cosplaying, I didn’t  make too mistakes, thanks my cosplay senpai! But still with a cosplay senpai, I still had some trials and errors. I remember a while back a girl messaged me on facebook about my Nidalee cosplay and that they wanted to make one just like mine. I was more then happy too help! Told her exactly what I did and gave her the most inexpensive route to go for that cosplay. Last thing you want to do is spend $200+ on your cosplay; because of all of the mistakes you made in the beginning, when you could have spent just $50 for the same results, right?

Are there certain characters that are easier to cosplay as than others?

There are plenty of cosplays out there that are pretty easy to do, especially some mainly fabric base ones. If you can easily purchase most if not all parts of your cosplay at clothing store like, Forever 21 then its a fairly easy cosplay to do. I do easy cosplays like that too for budget reason.
