Cosplay Spotlight: Kristin Marsh

Kristin Marsh, please enjoy your COSPLAY SPOTLIGHT!!

Why do you cosplay?

I enjoy dressing up.  It’s cliche but Halloween was always my favorite holiday.  I also loving seeing the little kids faces light up when you’re in costume.

What was your first cosplay?

Mistress Death.

Do you make your own cosplay costumes, if so, which ones, and how long does an average costume take to make?

I don’t make my own costumes.  I usually just buy different pieces and put them together. My fiance makes all my props.

What is your favorite character to play?

Amongst animation, comics, movies, or video games, what is your biggest inspiration for cosplay?

Have you ever made any mistakes that you’d warn a first timer about?

With Mistress Death painting my face white.  At first I used a clown make up and it was really cakey.  Now I use a powder base Manic Panic foundation and it goes on much smoother and more evenly.

Are there certain characters that are easier to cosplay as than others?

I don’t think so.  I think everyone puts a lot of work into what they do and it takes a lot of confidence to walk around in a costume all day.  So I think everyone should feel proud of what they create when they cosplay.
