After a long wait, fans of the gun-toting, Wicked Weaving witch finally get their wish. The sequel to the most over-the-top action game is set to be released for the Wii U,…. and that’s about it. The announcement came yesterday afternoon at Nintendo’s Japanese Nintendo Direct press conference where Satoru Iwata revealed that Platinum Games is making Bayonetta 2 exclusively for the Wii U. Not PS3 or Xbox 360, just Wii U. While there are a lot of fans who are upset over this, there are many other fans who fully support the sequel after Sega was ready to bury it earlier this year. Nintendo saved the game and put it back on track with intent to release in March 2013. Honestly, this is a good tactic on Nintendo’s part. The first Bayonetta was a hugely successful title for Platinum Games and it’s bewitching heroine has become an instant fan favorite in the same manner as Dante or Kratos. Those fans issued their frustrations when Sega announced the cancellation of the sequel. Now they can rejoyce that the witch is back!
In other Nintendo news, the Wii U launches on November 18.
Here’s a little tease.
