The results are in! Nintendo reports that the Super NES classic mini has sold 5.28 million units as of today. The home of Mario has previously reported that their shrunk down version of their classic console sold 4 million units in February.
The Super NES mini debuted last September in Europe and North America, and October in Japan. Like the good old days, the unit comes with two controllers and 21 preloaded games including F-Zero, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World. The Super NES mini retails for $89.99 MSRP.
Nintendo had previously released a mini version of their classic 8-bit system, Nintendo Entertainment System, and its Japanese counterpart, the Famicom in November 2016. Nintendo shipped 1.7 million units of the NES mini in January 2017. As a result of Nintendo releasing their classic system, sales of their Amiibo products have increased compared to their last fiscal year, selling 10.30 million figures by the end of this fiscal year which was March 31.
