It’s not a joke. This is really happening. A decade after that less than impressive third movie, Steven Spielburg and company are gearing up to fix what went wrong and attempt to revive the franchise. It was nearly twenty years ago when the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park stumbled onto the big screen and that unforgettable roar of the T-rex blistered our ears. We were treated to a cinematic delight. Stunning computer graphics brought the 65 million year old giants back to life, creating a theatrical phenomenom that held the record of “Highest Grossing Movie” until 1997’s Titanic.
Two sequels followed, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3, but the last movie was not directed by Spielburg hence why it wasn’t as enjoyable as the first two Jurassic Park movies. Steven will not be directing but he is producer. Direction of the fourth movie has been given to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” screnwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver who scored a hit with their film last year. Currently, details on the storyline are still under wraps. Spielburg is looking to begin production over the next two to three years.
