It looks like the tv show Heroes is back! The thrilling, superhero series whose stint lasted from 2006 to 2010, was a highly popular sci fi drama that had a huge following. Breaking news that a new installment of the series will air in 2015, called Heroes: Reborn. According to sources, the returning series will consist of thirteen episodes as a stand alone story, with casting still a mystery. There is a possibility that some of the actors from the original series will make an appearance however, NBC, on which the show originally aired, will likely keep mum about it until closer to the premier.
Here’s the clip that has people buzzing:
While some could argue that only season one of the series was solid, no one could argue that the characters and storyline were engrossing. Where the show faltered was further into the series in both the direction and writing. As the creator of the series, Tim Kring is back on board for the newest installment, my hope would be that all parties involved would learn from the mistakes made in the original series and bring it. As the new addition to the Heroes legacy involves a stand-alone story and likely new characters, they may have taken a cue from the shooting methods that American Horror Story has adopted: each season is a new story/theme/time with new characters, however with some or all of the characters in new roles.
This is a great opportunity here for NBC – Heroes had a committed cult following. There is no better time, considering the success of other science fiction series such as Supernatural, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Arrow, Almost Human, and Revolution (to name only a few) – to reignite the excitement in old fans and new. I’m completely on board. Save the cheerleader, save the world!
