5 Questions with… Comic Artist and Illustrator Myke Allen

1) On what project are you currently working?
I’m currently working on a sci-fi concept called “Proxy Legend.” It’s a bit like “Quantum Leap” and “Freaky Friday” meets “Deep Space Nine.” A human scientist and an alien rebel accidentally change places across distant space. Both have to adjust to life in totally different worlds.

2) Whom in your field do you admire most and why?
I most admire Jim Lee. He has always been a powerhouse in the comic book world and I found out a few years ago that we share a birthday! His X-Men series started my interest in being an artist.

3) How did you get into the comic book field?
Haha well like I said, Jim lee inspired me to draw. I spent years working on my style and developing my art. Eventually building comics for myself and then selling them online.

4) On which title would you most like to work and why?
I would most like to work on “Something is Killing the Children.” It’s a beautiful comic and the style of the artwork makes me want to draw monsters and children!

5) On what project will you be working next?
My next project is actually an animated show. The concept is pretty riveting and revolves around actual world events. I will be building a comic book to go alongside the first issue so that readers can eventually be watchers! I’m keeping the details to myself for now but I will tell you more once the first issue is built.
