5 Questions with… Artist Courtland Ellis

1) On what project are you currently working?

I’m currently storyboarding on an unannounced project for Decoy Games.

2) Whom in your field do you admire most and why?

I’m a big fan of people like Shawna Mills, Chase Conley, Olivier Coipel, Pepe Larraz, and too many more to name.

3) How did you get into the comic book field?

Well, I’m not currently working heavily in the comic industry, but it initially started with me being brought on as an intern for an animation studio called “The Factory” by my partner on the Stabb Gunner series writer/creator Joseph Krzemienski. He had been working on the initial idea for the Stabb Gunner comic prior to us working together and eventually brought the idea to me. I jumped pretty quick at the idea.

4) On which title would you most like to work and why?

Hard to say. As far as my storyboarding career goes, I’d love to get work on an Avatar: The Last Air Bender type project just because I’ve always been a fan. As far as comics It’d probably have to be something pretty unique as far as comics go, but nothing specific.

5) On what project will you be working next?

I have no idea at the moment, but I like surprises, so that’s ok.
