Take a bite out of Apple TV – launches November 1st

The iHouse of Technology is ready to enter the streaming channel market, ready to compete with the likes of Netflix and Hulu. It was just a month ago that Apple announced they would be launching their streaming channel in November, the same time period as Disney+, the streaming channel set for launch by Disney. The House of Mouse already boasted a sign up price of $6.99 a month, nearly half the cost of Netflix. But Apple TV went one step further. The sign up fee for them is only $4.99 a month. Even better, if you already own iPhone, MacBook or Apple TV, you get a year subscription for free.

Apple is not playing around with their new service. Since they do not have all the intellectual properties Disney+ has, the company needed to go a different route. They are teaming up with some big names producers including J.J. Abrams, Taika Waititi and Steven Spielberg (among others) to produce content for Apple TV. Apple is also gunning for the Oscars, toting their plan to release six awards-worthy films a year. How’s that for ballsy. With Disney+ having Star Wars and Marvel set up at the starting line, they are more than ready for the streaming race. Going lower than Disney in subscription price gives a slight edge; hopefully, Apple TV will find its “iAudience.”
