We are less than a month away before the annual gaga for games and technology kicks off at E3 2018. While Nintendo and Square Enix have been relatively quiet about their plans for this year’s event, Sony is beginning to show their hand. Shawn Layden, Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide chairman, said in a podcast that Sony will shift gears and focus more on specific exclusives for the Playstation 4 rather than new hardware. The titles getting the attention are Ghost of Tsushima, Last of Us II, Spider-Man and Death Stranding.
Indie games will also be getting the spotlight at this year’s E3 but these four title will be leading the charge. Kojima Productions’ action title, Death Stranding, will have the shroud of mystery removed as fans waiting for the game starring “Walking Dead’s” Norman Reedus and “Hannibal” actor Mads Mikkelsen as more regarding the game will be revealed. As of now, there is still no release date for Death Stranding. On the other side of the gate, Sucker Punch’s feudal era action title, Ghost of Tsushima, the sequel to Naughty Dog’s post apocalyptic action title, Last of Us II, and the highly anticipated superhero game from Insomniac Games, Spider-Man will make their debuts in the final months of the year. Spider-Man has a set release of September 9 and The Last of Us II is scheduled for December 2018 without a specific date. Not much is known about Ghost of Tsushima. Hopefully, that will change as we get closer to the event.
Playstation’s E3 conference will take place June 11 at 6:00 pm PST (9:00pm EST) and will stream on Twitch, YouTube and the Playstation official website.
