Shang Tsung and Scorpion are cast in Mortal Kombat reboot film!!

The 2021 James Wan Mortal Kombat film roster keeps growing with the casting of Shang Tsung and Scorpion. Fans will be pleased to known that their voices were heard. Playing Shang Tsung will be Chin Han while Scorpion will be played by Hiroyuki Sanada. Sanada has been sought after by fans to portray the popular ninja specter, especially given his long history of starring several martial arts films including The Last Samurai, 47 Ronin, The Wolverine and Rush Hour 3. He has recently played the Yakuza boss who was killed early on by Hawkeye in Avengers: Endgame.

Chin Han is best known for playing well-spoken smarmy characters with a touch of class, thus making him the right choice to take up the role that was beautifully portrayed by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa in the original film and the recent Mortal Kombat 11 video game. Han played the bank robber Lau in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and wealthy villain Frank Chen in the CW’s Arrow. However, he has played nobler characters in Independence Day: Resurgence and Skyscraper.

Previously cast characters include Liu Kang, Jax, Mileena, and Sub-Zero. The Meg’s Jessica McNamee and House of Lies’ Josh Lawson have been recently cast to portray Sonya Blade and Kano.
