Comic books’ most famous power couple are coming back! According to several reports, the CW is in collaboration with Warner Bros TV to develop a new Supergirl spinoff series. The new series will be titled “Superman and Lois” and will feature Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in their roles as DC’s most iconic couple. The synopsis for the new show, planned for 2020/2021 TV season, will follow the Man of Steel and his lady love as they deal with the stress and complexities of living in modern society.
Tyler Hoechlin has portrayed the small screen Clark Kent/Superman on “Supergirl” for several episodes. Elizabeth Tulloch was cast as Lois Lane for last year’s “Elseworlds” crossover event. Both are set to reprise their roles for the upcoming “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, the major crossover event that expands across the CW shows “Arrow”, “The Flash”, “Supergirl”, “Batwoman”, and “Legends of Tomorrow.” The event will also incorporate characters from “Black Lightning”, “Smallville” and the 2002 “Birds of Prey” series. Crisis on Infinite Earths is adapted from the 1986 graphic DC comic series of the same name written by Marv Wolfman and penciled by George Pérez.
Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher starred in the 1990’s TV series “Lois and Clark: The new adventures of Superman” as the titular DC couple. The series ran from 1993 to 1997 for 87 episodes.
