Paramount Pictures has revealed the release date for the planned live action film based on Sega’s speedy blue mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. November 15, 2019 is when we get to see the Blue Blur on the big screen. “Deadpool” director Tim Miller will be executive producer and Neal H. Moritz will be producing. Directing the film will be Jeff Fowler, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film as writer and director of the short animated film Gopher Broke (2004).
Sony Entertainment originally had the rights to the “Sonic the Hedgehog” film before shifting it over to Paramount Pictures in October 2017. The film will be a blend of live action and CGI to bring Sonic and his friends to life.

It should be noted that Sonic is not the only popular mascot getting a movie. His rival from Nintendo, Mario, is getting ready to jump his way on to the big screen!
